Office of Commissioner Meieran

During my time with Commissioner Meieran, I worked as her scheduler and Community Engagement specialist. These responsibilities included but were not limited to managing the public email inbox and phone lines, as well as controlling the Commissioner’s calendar. On top of this, I worked very hard to create a bigger role for myself in the office, including representing the Commissioner’s office on various committees and in various employee affinity groups.

I take pride in the work I did both in the community and internally at Multnomah County within its workforce. I was able to participate in a planning group for a series of African American Town Halls, with the specific aim to give voice to our black community.

My time at Multnomah County culminated in my biggest project, the Youth Mental Health Forum. I led the six-month planning process after writing the entire charter, in which I proposed, planned, and managed the planning group efforts, before doing all of the community outreach. The event had over 250 high schoolers from all over the Portland Metro Area.
